The City of West Kelowna's Parks Department is looking to fill vacancies on its Cemetery Operations team. This team plays a vital role in providing high-quality services to the Cemetery Operations and onsite customer support.

Summarized Responsibilities:
Parks Operator II (Cemetery) performs advanced tasks in maintaining and operating infrastructure at the Cemetery, including landscaping, turf maintenance, tree care, irrigation repairs, fencing repairs, and building upkeep, while operating various tools and equipment, leading and assisting excavations for internments and cremations, using shoring boxes, may assist with pallbearer services, and training or directing other staff.
This is a permanent, 32-week seasonal position returning annually March to October. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in general construction, horticulture related work, equipment operation or similar
  • Basic First Aid
  • Traffic Control
  • Sharps Collection and Disposal
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with Heavy Trailer Endorsement
  • Completion of an 8-hour WorkSafeBC recognized course in the safe operation of chainsaws
  • IIABC Certified Irrigation Technician Level I and/or II
